On June 8th at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, CA at the Muscles and More car show, and in collaboration with the Make-A-Wish foundation, DUB presented Ethan with his newly restored and customized ride. It features a newly customized paint job with matching blue and white vinyl interior and blue suede inserts; 15-inch wheels from Boss with Pirelli tires; and a complete audio and video system. “When we got the car, it was pretty beat up,” describes DUB’s 12-volt director Manny “Maddog” Machado. “It looked like what you would expect a ’63 Volkswagen bus to look like.” Maddog was in charge of this special project, which only took two weeks to complete. “It took a few sleepless nights, but in the end, it was well worth it,” Maddog explains. He built the system to complement the classic interior of the VW, while still maintaining the roominess one would expect in a VW bus. It features an Alpine head unit with iPod interface, four 6.5 inch Alpine speakers, a single 10-inch Rockford Fosgate subwoofer and 200-Watt amplifier. Two 7-inch screens were mounted behind the front seats to keep passengers entertained. Ethan currently lives in Orange County and is a dialysis patient. When asked what was the one thing he wanted to do or have in this world, Ethan’s reply was to have his bus totally revamped. At first glance, Ethan didn’t even recognize his VW and was absolutely overwhelmed and thrilled at the sight. |

It’s not everyday that you can help make someone’s wish come true, which is why DUB is proud to have helped out in making 14-year-old Ethan K.’s dream of having his 1963 Volkswagen bus fully customized.
