JabbaWockeez: Redefining B-boyWhat is a JabbaWockee?
A boogie monster? Have you ever thought you saw something in the corner of your eye…a random noise shuffling in the middle of the night…the footsteps of the shadows wandering in your dreams…

There is no escape…you can’t hide from the figment of your imagination. That’s a JabbaWockee.

In the Mind of a JabbaWockee

The JabbaWockeez are anything but nonsense. Established in 2003 in San Diego, California as a result of a group of friends who wanted to defy dance troupes that seemed to clone dances, the JabbaWockeez wanted to showcase freestyle dance as an artistic expression. They have created a buzz across the country and were voted as the best crew in MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew.” Their signature white masks focus attention on the whole crew rather than on one individual during their performances. The JabbaWockeez are redefining style on and off stage.

KEIBEE
Kevin Brewer

JabbaWockeez: Redefining B-boy

Kevin has been busting dance moves for more than 10 years
and is one of the founding members of the crew. Best known
for “Beat Kune Do” (“It’s not really a style, but a means to unlock our dance potential,” he explains), Keibee was inspired to dance by the “OGs of hip-hop” like Mr. Wiggles, Poppin’ Pete, Ken Swift and Crazy Legs, and also Michael Jackson and Bruce Lee. With his retro lenses from Cazal that were made popular by Run-DMC in the ’80s, Keibee grooves in some Shmack Nailer jeans, Shmack Cliffhanger long sleeve shirt and Shmack Hatchect sneakers. “It’s all about the shoes!”

KID Rainen
Rynan Shawn Paguio

JabbaWockeez: Redefining B-boy

Kid Rainen started breaking with his older brothers when he was 11 and names Rock Steady Crew legends Ken Swift, Crazy Legs and Mr. Wiggles as some of his influences. He also takes pleasure in singing and playing the guitar, but nothing beats the thrill of the battle. Steady mobbin’ in a Levi’s vest, Undrcrwn Bedstuy Bandit jersey, Shmack Star Buck Cut 101 jeans and classic Puma Clyde shoes with the fat laces, Rainen is dressed for battle, anytime and anywhere.

B-TEK
Ben Chung

JabbaWockeez: Redefining B-boy

With his background in “urban freestyle,” Ben wouldn’t say that there was any single move that was hard for him to master (“However, the most challenging aspect of dancing was learning how to isolate and control my body.”) Ben looks “so fresh and so clean” in Vans Skate Mids, Shmack Nailer jeans, Kangol Classic Wool Herringbone Gaffer hat and Supreme sweatshirt, while a Guess watch and vintage Cazal sunglasses accentuate his unique style.
