One of the most respected names in performance brakes is Baer Brake Systems (Phoenix, Arizona). In 1986 founder Hal Baer established Baer Racing, Inc. Originally, the business provided race preparation and fabrication services between seasons and race dates. But as popularity and demand for its brake systems grew, Baer was forced to look into expanding business to put its brakes into production for the masses.

This year started off with a bang thanks to the success of the 2010 NAIAS show held Jan. 11-24 in Detroit’s Cobo Center, with 60 new premieres and over 700 vehicles on display.

Audi unveiled a second full-electric sports car concept at the Detroit show just a few months after the debut of the Audi e-tron at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The German firm's new concept model is said to provide a vision of how a small sports car positioned below R8 could look like. The original e-tron was fitted with four-electric motors, two at each axle, the Detroit showcar gets two motors that drive the rear wheels and can operate independently.

SpeedART has released the first live photos of a Porsche Panamera fitted with its PS9 sport package that bundles aerodynamic add-ons and interior mods with performance upgrades and four different power kits for the Turbo model. Available on all Panamera models, SpeedART's PS9 aero kit includes a front spoiler with an integrated brake cooling system, beefier side skirts, engine hood air vents, a rear diffuser that houses a pair of twin-tailpipes, air outlets on the rear bumper and a fixed rear spoiler. Some 22-inch, three-piece alloy wheels fitted with 265/35 and 305/25 ZR22 high-performance tires completes the package. The BMW 7-Series' smaller brother, the new 5-Series, has officially launched. It’s smaller in terms of both size and styling, but still equally as impressive as it’s older sibling. Highlights of the new 5-Series include a less controversial exterior design that's more muscular and draws heavily on the Bavarian firm's flagship limousine and the return of the BMW's driver orientated center console and the classic four circular gauges on the instrument panel.

Introduced as the automaker's first modern four-door sedan, the 16C Galibier Concept is a close look at what the production 16C Galibier will resemble when it goes on sale in about three years (with a sales price estimated to be about $1.6 million).

Aston Martin has finally dropped detailed specs of its new high performance Rapide sports sedan. The Rapide was introduced in production form at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and is expected to reach dealerships early next year. The four-seater will be offered exclusively with Aston Martin's hand-built 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 477 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 443 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. According to Aston Martin's claims, the Rapide can accelerate from standstill to 60mph in 5.1 seconds and reach an estimated maximum speed of 188 mph.
